March 18, 2016What we consider the traditional workspace is transforming. Long commutes and high overheads are a thing of the past now that technology enables us to be as effective in our jobs no matter our locations.
What this does for prospective tutoring franchise owners is open a world of possibilities. Home tutoring business owners get to set their hours, they have the kind of flexibility that ensure they have a healthy work/life balance and you just cna't beat the commute!
Of course one of the biggest draws is the lack of brick and mortar shopfront which vastly reduces upfront costs and overheads and means you make money sooner.
Tutor Doctor Franchise owner, Kim Chambers tells us more about what it's like to be the owner of a home tutoring franchise:
Oh my, Monday mornings are still Monday mornings for a work-at-home mom like me. However, there are still so many benefits to working from home. Many people dream of working from home, envisioning flexible hours and a non-existent dress code, just steps away from their own kitchen. But, it is really more than that….really!
As the mother of a 13 year old, yes a teenager, I have the flexibility in my day to manage it in a way that I can be around to help her when needed (now she may not like that, but I do).
When I first started working from home, my daughter wasn’t necessarily on board and would tell me that she thinks I should go back to the corporate world. However, now, if I’m not home when she gets home, she may get a little attitude…the nerve of her.
It is less stressful to know that I can attend to any matter involving her like sickness or field trips. No need to ask the boss can I take off. I believe this is the number one reason working from homes works for me. As a side benefit, working from home has brought me closer to my daughter and that’s the best benefit of all!
