"Tutor Doctor’s business structure is one-on-one, in-home tutoring. We also tutor in alignment with the schools as opposed to implementing our own proprietary curriculum. Why is this good for the franchisee?
- Lack of overhead - You save a huge amount in expenses each month without having to worry about rent or utilities that goes along with having a storefront. This business model means that you will need a significantly larger amount of tutors to serve the needs of your clients, and recruiting tutors will be an expense, but it is a variable one that nowhere near matches the expense of having a storefront. Also, by not having a proprietary curriculum, you are not required as business owners to purchase any materials for your clients or tutors.
- More control - By staying in alignment with the school’s curriculum, you are able to have more control over what your tutors can tutor. For example, in my territory, our schools are famously rigorous. The definition of “student norms” here are quite a bit over what are considered “national norms.” Many learning centers and tutoring companies here do not fare well because their proprietary curriculums do not meet the needs of the clientele. The norms are far too low for them to be successful in the classroom".
