Tutor Doctor Franchise Partners

Tutor Doctor Franchisees come from incredibly diverse backgrounds, each using their unique experiences to make a difference in the education industry. However, for teachers and business partners Allison Parker (right) and Lacey Frank (left) from Panama City, Florida, their transition was easier than they thought.

“As we were looking into Tutor Doctor, a lot of the qualities that they represent really spoke to what we stood for in the classroom,” Lacey says. “I think a teacher is going to identify with being able to go into that home, find the [students’] needs, and assess the kids.”

Allison and Lacey explain their formal background in education has given them a deeper insight into the mindset of students, allowing them to better meet their needs.

In spite of their previous experience, this dynamic duo still had some fears in making the jump from teachers to business owners. Fortunately, these were quickly allayed.

“When we found out exactly how Tutor Doctor works we fell in love with it. But we were still quite scared of the word ‘business'... and running a business!” Allison says. “Our fears were put to rest early on. We never would have taken this leap if they weren’t put at ease.”

“You have to be willing to ask for help, but taking that huge leap of faith was the most important thing, and we’ve had someone by our side the entire time."

For Allison and Lacey, the rewards of owning their Tutor Doctor franchise have been numerous. Rather than feeling locked into a role, they now have room to grow and explore new skills, all while satisfying their passion for education.

Additionally -- and possibly because of their skill for meeting the needs of their students -- Allison and Lacey have seen their new business thriving.

“A business person may feel more comfortable with the financial side, but they may not have the skills to relate to a family, and feel the need and make that connection,” Allison explains. “I think teachers may have an upper hand in that area.” Franchisees from diverse backgrounds can succeed in the Tutor Doctor system.

“[We made] a goal and met that goal in less than two months, and became successful in less than six months. We consider ourselves as a new franchise quite successful.”
