October 3, 2019Right now, the US economy is robust, and due to the low unemployment rate, jobs are more stable than they’ve been in years. In times of economic stability, corporate warriors aren’t thinking about business ownership with the same sense of urgency as when there is a looming threat of layoffs. But are jobs ever 100% safe, even when the economy is good?
Ask any savvy Wall Street investor, and they’ll say the market is unpredictable at best. The market and the economy can change at any moment, and so can job stability. After all, there are thousands of stories about people who thought they had the best job in the world and suddenly, something happened and it was all gone.
A lot can happen in the corporate world that can threaten job security. So, to have a “backup plan” or a “Plan B,” more (and more) CEOs, senior executives, managers, and other employees who don’t want to risk their financial security are purchasing businesses on the side – enter Tutor Doctor’s “Executive Model,” which we explain below.
You Can Keep Your Job & Buy a Franchisee Too
If you considered buying a franchising in the past, you may have thought you had to take an “all or nothing approach.” Meaning, you’d have to give up your job to become a franchisee. While that is true for many franchise models, with Tutor Doctor’s Executive Model, you can have the best of both worlds.
A lot of corporate workers love the idea of buying a franchise, but they’re not comfortable leaving their job and having their new business their only source of income. The good thing about our Executive Model is that entrepreneurs can still keep their job, while running their franchise part-time about 15-20 hours a week.
How Does the Executive Model Work?
Tutor Doctor developed a business model tailored specifically for owners who want to keep their jobs, that reduces the day-to-day demands on the franchisee. One notable element is our fully integrated, in-house Care Center (call center) that books consultations, handles all inbound calls to franchisees, takes messages, and follows-up with internet leads.
Under the Executive Model, the franchisee hires one full-time employee to be the General Manager, the anchor of the business. This individual will be in charge of the day-to-day operation of the business, consultations, and marketing.
Meanwhile, the franchisee spends 15 to 20 hours a week performing tutor recruitment, tutor matching, and managing the metrics on our proprietary CRM System (BANG) designed to optimized franchisees operations.
Role of the Launch Support Program
The Launch Support Program (LSP) is designed to provide intensive remote and in-field support to facilitate immediate growth of a new franchise over its first year in operation.
The program is delivered by a designated Launch Support Specialist (LSS) who works with the new franchisee and the hired manager through all the phases of their training and initial launch for the first year.
The LSS is well-versed in all aspects of the Tutor Doctor business and will act as an accountability partner with the sole purpose of focusing on establishing best practices. In addition there is a Sales Skills Development Program which provides ongoing skills development on all facets of the Tutor Doctor consultation process.
And...The Benefits Are Numerous!
The job market is stable right now, but at the end of the day, you never know what could happen. When you own your own business, you have control of how and when you want to grow it.
