September 20, 2016Running an independent business is a rewarding and, at times, difficult undertaking. While there are some benefits to going it alone, the prospect of converting to a franchise model can sometimes be too good to pass up.
The Business Journals recently interviewed Tutor Doctor owner Jennifer Rosier about her experience converting her independent tutoring business over to a Tutor Doctor franchise. Jennifer had been running College Prep Solutions, which provided students with tutoring and exam preparation, specifically looking ACT and SAT preparation. After almost 10 years with College Prep Solutions, she was looking to expand and scale the business and that’s when she decided that a Tutor Doctor franchise was the way to go.
In speaking with The Business Journals, Jennifer speaks about her experience and what entrepreneurs should consider when looking at franchising.
She says, “the franchise model allows entrepreneurial types who don’t necessarily have prior experience in operating a business to become trained and informed about running a business.”
Jennifer saw immense benefits when she made the change, and believes entrepreneurs should consider the following when looking into a franchise model: the training and support they will receive, the demand for the business in their area, costs associated with franchising, and the economic stability of the chosen franchise.
For Jennifer, the key factor in choosing to convert to a Tutor Doctor franchise was the training and support she received, and the ability to expand her educational offerings.
